Dr. Spades started and has led our dental practice since 2012, and he brings over 25 years of dental experience to the Jonesboro community. He loves how quickly dentistry can make someone’s life significantly better. Most of the time, he can get someone out of pain or greatly improve their smile in just a single appointment! He has built so many amazing relationships over the years through our office, and he can’t wait to welcome you into our growing dental family.
Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
Despite his brother, father-in-law, and wife all being involved in the dental field, Dr. Spades admits that he never really wanted to be a dentist growing up. Despite this, he decided to give dentistry a try after graduating from college. Lucky for him, he discovered his passion, and it has led to the fulfilling career he still enjoys every day.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Spades started his dental career at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro as an undergraduate. He went on to attend dental school at the University of Tennessee, and he practiced in Germantown, TN and Russellville before finally making Jonesboro his home in 2002. He worked at Burnett & Spades Family Dentistry for 10 years before starting Northeast Arkansas Dentistry in 2012.
Throughout his career, Dr. Spades has continued his education and completed advanced training focused on dental implant dentistry, orthodontics, cosmetic dentistry, oral surgery, sedation dentistry, and full mouth reconstruction. He is also an active member of the American Dental Association, Arkansas State Dental Association, American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, and Spear Education.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Dr. Spades and his wife met while they were in dental school and she was studying to become a hygienist. Today, they have three children, Gracie, Holt, and Stella, as well as three dogs, Auggie, Amos, and Axel. While his family gets most of his free time, Dr. Spades also enjoys hiking and going out to see live music whenever he can.
